SethiG's Contribution to OYO’s Success in Thailand

SethiG was appointed as a senior advisory consultant for OYO during their market penetration into Thailand, with the decision being made directly by Ritesh Agarwal and the senior leadership team. Tharin Sethi had the privilege of working closely with OYO’s team during this crucial period.

        Key Scope of Services:

  1. Recruited as OYO Thailand’s 2nd team member, scaling the team to 75 strong across 5 departments in just 5 months.
  2. Assisted in the initial launch of OYO Thailand, managing the follow-up for Board of Investment (BOI) approval, other required legal registrations, and negotiating the provisional office lease for the growing team.
  3. Acted as the de-facto head for the Business Development (BD) and Operations teams, liaising between the remote Region Head and staff until the permanent heads transferred to Thailand in May 2019.
  4. Developed a comprehensive BD team training guidebook and an incentive program focused on achieving monthly GMV growth targets, increasing signed room numbers (SRN) from 0 rooms in February 2019 to 680 rooms by May 2019.
  5. Collaborated with the Revenue team to enhance EBITDA by strategically ranking the potential of each booking channel (DMC, OTAs, Corp, Direct) and assigning supply inventory accordingly for each OYO hotel.
