This Time For Africa
At SethiG, we believe in building partnerships that cross borders and fuel long-term growth. Last month, our Managing Director, Tharin Sethi, traveled to Zimbabwe and South Africa, a trip that highlighted the role of entrepreneurship, collaboration, and shared learning in driving opportunity.
Zimbabwe: Empowering Founders at Falling Walls Lab
In Harare, Tharin joined Falling Walls Lab Zimbabwe as a juror, where ten inspiring entrepreneurs pitched solutions to national challenges. Alongside judging, he led a hands-on entrepreneurship coaching session, covering investor outreach, business planning, and effective pitching. While only one founder advances to Berlin, all ten are already driving change for Zimbabwe by building resilience and creating opportunities. Special thanks to Emmie C. for making this possible.
South Africa: Connections & Collaboration
In Johannesburg and Cape Town, Tharin met with investors and leaders including Kennedy G. Bungane, Group CEO of African Bank and Sakhumzi Maqubela, Founder & Director of Sakhumzi Restaurant, as well as visited Yoco’s headquarters and connected with Dani Pick of The Butcher Shop and Grill.
Partnership in Action
This trip was made possible thanks to the trust of our partner, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and Miklos Romandy. Together, we continue to create platforms that empower entrepreneurs.
Experiencing Radisson RED
Staying at the Radisson RED Cape Town V&A Waterfront provided valuable insight into the brand’s bold hospitality ethos, an experience we’ll carry forward as we support the development of Radisson RED Bangkok. A big thank you to Angus Spurr and Jaycee Brooks for their warm hospitality and perspective.
From Harare to Cape Town, this journey was a reminder that innovation knows no borders, and when partners come together, opportunities multiply. At SethiG, we are proud to play our part in connecting ideas, people, and places across continents.
